Colomina Hut was built on the bank of lake Colomina in 1917. It used to host Mr Keller, the Swiss engineer who led the first great hydroelectric work in Spain.
Once the works of the lake system of La Vall Fosca finished, FECSA (Electric company) handed the management of the hut over to the FEEC (Federació d’Entitats Excursionists de Catalunya), which opened it as a mountain lodge in 1973.
Located in the southern part of Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, it offers multiple trekking possibilities both in summer –such as the popular “Carros de Foc” crossing– and in winter –ski mountaineering. The hut is also on the GR 11.20 route (long-distance footpaths), one of the sections of the Trans-Pyrenean GR.
