Being spread out along the Flamisell river, La Plana looks like a small city when reflected on the water at night.

Ten years after its rural school was reopend in 2001, a second building was built by the Generalitat (Catalan government) in 2011.

The Virgin of La Plana’s sanctuary is particularly outstanding. The role of the hermit –mystic person who used to carry the figure of the Virgin and to act as a healer– is still remembered in the villages of the valley.

La Plana is the starting point of several trekking routes to Paüls, Castell-estaó, Obeix and Beranui.
