Arrival

Itinerary

There are three ways to get to the Estany Gento’s Green railway line. Each of them can be done with a different mean of transport.

  • Using the cable car (recommended) that connects Sallente’s dam with Estany Gento’s lake, the starting point of the Green railway line (Carrilet). This service is provided from July to September.
  • By 4×4 vehicles from Espui to Coll del Triador and the water reservoir (about 30 min), until you get to the other end of the Green railway line. This option obliges you to follow the route in the opposite direction compared to the web’s description.
  • On foot through Pigolo’s pass. This walk is not easy and takes about 4 hours. The path through Pigolo’s pass starts at Sallente’s dam and takes around 50 minutes.

The route starts in Estany Gento’s lake (2,200 m). From the cable car’s stop in Estany Gento, walk to the dam’s wall, where you will see the first sign of the route, next to the railway line. From there on, just follow the old railway line and sleepers until the water reservoir of Capdella’s hydroelectric power station (2,136 m). You cannot miss it!
